For campsite owners
Growing your campsite: start with guests who suit your site
Growth does not have to mean adding more pitches. You may want to attract guests who suit your site, answer fewer repeated questions or explain your existing offer more clearly.

Look first at the information guests use to choose a stay. Photos, pitch types, facilities and a clear price tell them more than a broad promise of peace or luxury. Be honest about what your campsite does not offer, too.
Then look at the next step: can someone easily see what is available and how to book? The guide helps you follow that journey on a phone. Clear information can support a decision, but cannot guarantee extra bookings.
Where to start
- Answer the questions guests already ask you most often.
- Check that your photos and descriptions are still accurate.
- Try the booking journey on a phone.
Choose what you want to improve first
Do you want more suitable guests in a quiet period, fewer questions before arrival or less time spent on individual enquiries? These are different aims. Choose one and write down how you will recognise improvement. More website visits alone do not show whether guests suit your campsite.
Look for a recurring pattern in existing bookings and questions. Perhaps summer is already busy, but cyclists do not know they can stay one night. Check that this offer fits your actual rules and daily work before promoting it more clearly.
Replace broad claims with information that helps guests choose
‘A wonderful escape’ says little about a pitch. Explain which vehicles or tents fit, the ground surface, where the electricity connection is and which facilities are available. Include limitations such as narrow access or no play area.
Use your phone to take a current overview, a photo at eye level from a pitch, and views of the entrance and toilets. Check that the photos match the pitch being offered. Obtain permission where needed and do not present another campsite’s photos as your own site.
Check the three possible routes to a reservation
A guest may find your listing on a platform, visit your website or already be standing at the entrance. Check the information and next step at each entry point. Not every site needs all three: a QR code is useful only if you have actually set up booking on arrival.
LycamPe offers platform bookings, a configurable form for your website and QR booking where appropriate. The website form needs domain settings and the code added to your site. For QR booking, check the pitch selection supported by your setup. A link or calendar connection does not automatically record a phone booking.

Ask someone to choose a stay on their phone
Ask someone unfamiliar with your campsite to find a suitable stay. Have them explain their thoughts: will the tent or motorhome fit, what is included, which dates are free and how do I book? Avoid helping immediately; hesitation shows where information is missing.
Make one improvement, such as a clearer entrance photo or an explanation of a pitch name. Try the same task again. Check links and available dates after website changes too, so guests do not end up at an outdated form.
Look at real enquiries and stays
After a suitable period, review the enquiries and bookings you actually receive. Do guests find the improved information? Do the same misunderstandings recur? Consider season, weather and changes to your offer before attributing a difference to one photo or paragraph.
Start with your existing booking overview and a simple list of common questions. You do not need to track visitors first. The presentation guide below helps you work through photos, prices and booking information without promising growth or revenue.
- Choose one aim and one thing to improve.
- Check the offer, photos and booking link on a phone.
- Judge suitable enquiries and bookings, not clicks alone.
