Help guests choose

More bookings for your campsite: start with what you offer

Some guests discover you on LycamPe; others already know your website. Someone at your entrance may want to reserve a space straight away. With LycamPe, offer all three a way to book: your campsite page, the form on your own website and a QR code on site where you have set one up.

How guests book through your website

The booking form can appear within your own website. Guests choose their dates and a suitable pitch and see the price breakdown before completing their booking.

Three ways to book a stay with you

On LycamPe, guests can discover your campsite, choose available dates and reserve a pitch. Add the LycamPe booking form to your own website so visitors can book after reading your story and seeing your photos. You can keep the website you already have.

On site, guests can scan a QR code to open the booking page on their phone. There is a code for the whole site and, where set up, a code for an individual space. This gives guests who are already travelling or standing at your entrance a way to book too. You still arrange their welcome and access to the site.

Show who would feel at home on your campsite

What do guests come to your campsite for? It might be walks nearby, a play field for children or pitches with a lovely view. Describe what there is to enjoy at your site and who it suits.

Use photos of your own pitches and facilities. Include practical details such as when you open, which tents or vehicles are welcome and how to reach the site. Guests can then understand what they are choosing.

Keep available pitches up to date

When a guest sees an available pitch, they want to be able to book it. Add phone reservations promptly and close any pitches you do not want to let. Check your opening dates before the new season begins.

Have you linked calendars from other websites? Check when the information was last updated. Changes do not always appear immediately, so allow for that when taking bookings through different websites.

Let your guest choose a pitch on the map

For individually bookable pitches placed on the map, guests can see the location, photo and price. Their chosen pitch also appears in the booking summary.

Make the price clear before booking

Show what a stay costs and which extras or taxes apply. An unclear price can put off even someone who is interested in staying with you.

Look at the full booking price as a guest sees it. Make clear which extras or taxes are part of the stay and account for any booking fees. This helps guests plan their holiday budget.

Make bookings easy to find on your own website

Someone browsing your website may also want to know whether a pitch is free. Make it clear where to book. Once your campsite is published on LycamPe, you can add its booking form to your own site.

Look at that page on your phone too. Is the form easy to find, with your contact details nearby? A visitor can then book or ask you about the pitch or their arrival first.

Listen to the questions guests ask

Do guests often ask whether a pitch has electricity or what time they can arrive? Put that information clearly on your campsite page. It will also help the next visitor with the same question.

Look at which enquiries lead to a stay too. Plenty of website visits are welcome, but you mainly want reservations from guests who suit your campsite. Their questions and experiences can help you improve your page.

Take the next step for your campsite

Start with your photos, description, prices and opening periods. Then view your campsite page as a guest would. Is it clear what you offer and how to book a pitch?

From our base in Buitenpost, we are building LycamPe for small campsites and motorhome stopovers. We help you present your site online and make it bookable. The number of bookings depends on your offer and guest demand. Registering and listing your campsite is completely free.
